9/21/2013 & 9/29/2013 – International Coastal Clean Up

Two “Dive Against Debris” Dive Cleanups – September 21st and Sept 28th, 2013

Tampa Bay Green Consortium is sponsoring two separate Dive Against Debris events this year to support International Coastal Cleanup 2013

 

Volunteers needed for these events include:

  • Divers – All divers must be Advanced Open Water certified with at least 30 open water dives in their logbook.  On the day of the dive cleanup, dive volunteers must submit their signed liability form (will send separately with Dive Plan). Diver/surface marker buoys are required for this dive event.
  • Kayaks/canoes – Volunteers with kayaks or paddleboards will support the divers in the water.
  • Safety observers – Need pier and shore safety observers.  Shore safety observers will assist divers in and out of the water.
  • Data collectors – Document debris collected for submission to Ocean Conservancy’s Marine Debris Index.

Saturday, September 21, 2013 – Ballast Point Pier

This is a shore dive cleanup at Ballast Point Pier to support Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful’s ICC 2013 cleanup.  The Safety Brief will be at 8:30am.

Saturday, September 28, 2013 – Ft Desoto Bay Pier

Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 0800-1200. This is a shore dive cleanup at Ft Desoto Bay Pier to support Tampa Bay Watch’s ICC 2013 cleanup.  The Safety Brief will be at 8:30am.
